Over the past few days I have shared with you the titles of the illustrate my own Unknown Bible Hero books with you - today I am happy to let you know about some of the illustrate my own Known Bible Hero books . . .
In this “Known Bible Hero” book you will have the opportunity to learn about one of our real heroes who actually was a real person – just like you and me! Gideon was a man who lived a long time ago – about eleven hundred and sixty years before Jesus was born! One interesting fact about Gideon is he was truly afraid of the Midianites . . . so afraid of them he snuck around at night to prepare his crops so they wouldn’t find him and take his crops away!
In this story you will learn how Gideon chose to listen to and obey God even when God’s plan sounded “scary”, because he knew God promised to be with him!
David was a real man who lived a long time ago – about one thousand years before Jesus was born! One interesting fact about David is he really loved being a shepherd and writing about God – he wrote most of the Book of Psalms! God called David, “A man after His own heart!”
In this story you will learn about how David knew he had to put his trust in God alone to stand against the giant, Goliath!
Daniel was a real man who lived a long time ago – about six hundred years before Jesus was born! One interesting fact about Daniel is he was captured as a teen and taken far from his home in Israel to Babylonia . . . in the country we know today as Iraq . . . where he eventually became a main advisor to four kings!
In this story you will learn about how Daniel knew he needed to always choose to obey and talk with God . . . no matter what!
With these books, you will be able to show your creativity and provide the illustrations making them truly your own! It does not matter if you are only able to draw stick people (and seriously, a book with stick people could be a fantastic book!) - the point is the value in in the conversations these books will generate! And, stick people, or more detailed illustrations, these books will be a treasure to enjoy as you and/or the children you love put the time into illustrating them!
So, artist or not, get these books, illustrate them, and treasure the conversations - and most importantly the learning - which will happen as you do!
